GWDG at the Hannover Messe: Experience Quantum Computing live with QUICS

by GWDG News Team

The GWDG will be exhibiting at the Hannover Messe this year from 20 to 24 April 2026. The focus will be on the QUICS (Quantum Innovation and Computing for SMEs), which will be represented at the Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (QVLS) stand.

Quantum computing for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)

QUICS supports small and medium-sized enterprises in tapping into the potential of quantum computing through consultancy, training and risk-free access to high-performance computing (HPC). The project offers a vendor-neutral platform for testing specific industrial use cases on real quantum hardware or digital twins. As a Lower Saxony network of excellence, the partner QVLS (Quantum Valley Lower Saxony) brings together expertise from science and industry to develop the region into a leading hub for quantum technologies.

Experience the demonstrator live

Visitors to the QVLS stand (Hall 11, Stand B25) can put theory directly into practice. A specially developed demonstrator illustrates the ‘Vehicle Routing Problem’ – a complex logistics task solved using quantum annealing simulations.

On site, interested visitors have the opportunity to try out this demonstrator for themselves:

  • Interactive Python notebook: The example can be tested live via a Jupyter notebook.
  • HPC connection: Direct access to the GWDG HPC cluster has been set up for the trade fair to demonstrate the computing power behind the simulations.
